Tamil Nadu: 3 Dead, 2 Hurt After Car Hits Stationary Bus Near Trichy (Image Source: ANI )
In the early hours of Monday morning in Tamil Nadu's Trichy, three people, including a toddler, were killed and two others injured when a speeding car returning from Tenkasi to Chennai rammed into a standard government bus. The incident was happened at Trichy-Chennai National Highway near Siruganur, according to the police.
According to officials, the car was being driven by Joseph, a resident of Alangulam in Tenkasi district. He was on his way back to Chennai after attending a wedding in Tenkasi. The vehicle crashed into a government bus that had broken down on the highway and was left standing without any warning signals. The impact left the car badly damaged. Yasodha, her one-and-a-half-year-old child Anonia, and their friend Vijayababu died on the spot. Joseph and another passenger, Selvakumar, suffered major injuries and were later rescued by the police.
It took the police more than 30 minutes to pull out the bodies from the wrecked car before sending them to the government hospital for post-mortem. Trichy SP Selvanagarathinam confirmed the accident to the media over a phone call. Deputy Superintendent Dinesh Kumar and Inspector Gunasekaran visited the spot, inspected the scene, and started an inquiry into the case.
